15-Day Basic Ice Hockey Coaching Camp Wraps Up in Kargil with Promising Results

Kargil, India – The 15-day basic Ice Hockey coaching camp for under 14 boys and girls organized by the District Youth Services and Sports Office (DYSSO) Kargil in collaboration with the Zonal Physical Education Officer Kargil concluded on Saturday at the Khree Sultan Choo Sports Stadium in Bemathang, Kargil.

The concluding ceremony was attended by the Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan, as well as participants, coaches, and parents.

In his address, Khan congratulated the DYSSO Kargil for organizing the successful camp and praised the growing popularity of ice hockey among the youth of Kargil. He expressed confidence in the talent and enthusiasm of the players, and the commitment of the LAHDC Kargil to develop world-class sports infrastructure.

The CEC informed the audience that two national-level Ice Hockey Rinks are currently under construction in Kargil, with the aim of completing the works by next year. He also announced plans to develop ice hockey rinks at the village level, and emphasized the importance of sports kits for the players.

Khan also encouraged the players to opt for traditional sports such as archery and polo, and emphasized the special focus of LAHDC Kargil on health, education, and sports. He appreciated the large participation of girls in sports and expressed his belief that they will shine in the future.

In total, around 250 players were trained during the 15-day coaching session, making it a resounding success. The conclusion of the camp marks a new chapter in the development of ice hockey in Kargil, and sets the stage for future growth and success.
