A 45-day residential winter alternative camp for the students of Hunder Constituency concluded at Terchey village yesterday. His Eminence Chos-sam Rinpoche was the chief guest and the Dy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk was the guest of honor. Commander Indian Air-Force Station Thoise, Councillor Hunder, Kunzang Lotus, Nominated Councillor, SDM Nubra, sub-divisional officials, and village representatives led by Sarpanches and Nambardars of the villages of Hunder Constituency attended the closing ceremony.
The camp has been initiated by a committee led by Ven. Jigmat Namgyal with the blessings and support from H.E Thuksey Rinpoche, H.E Chos-sam Rinpoche, and LAHDC Leh.
The winter camp had students from across the villages of Hunder Constituency and various sessions were conducted on student academic lessons, basics of Bhoti language grammar, and co-curricular learnings such as an introspection program, sports activities, meditation, and confidence-building activities.
H.E Chos-sam Rinpoche shared his words of wisdom and lauded the efforts of organising team for the successful conduct of the winter alternative camp for students.
In his address, Dy. Chairman Angchuk lauded the efforts of the organisers in successfully conducting these comprehensive camps during winter. He highlighted the need for enhancing skills apart from school academics, and also stressed the need for the preservation of Bhoti language. He also assured continuous assistance from the Hill Council, Leh towards such good initiatives. He stated that the students’ overall performances reflected the quality of education provided to the during the winter camp which is appreciable.
Similarly, Councillor Hunder, Kunzang Lotus, and the organising committee led by Ven. Jigmat expressed their gratitude to the villagers, teachers, and supporters for their constant assistance in successfully conducting the winter alternative camp for the students.
