1. Domicile Requirement:

To apply for the JK Police Constable position, candidates must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. This requirement is defined in the notifications issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

2. JK Police Constable Educational Qualification:

  • Matriculation Examination: Candidates should have passed the matriculation examination from any government-recognized board before the last date of application submission.

3. Age Criteria:

  • Minimum Age: Candidates should not be below 18 years old.
  • Maximum Age: Candidates should not exceed 28 years of age as of January 1, 2022. However, certain relaxations apply:
    • Candidates who were below 28 years at the time of the earlier advertisement but could not apply due to non-permanent resident status and are now eligible due to domicile status can apply.
    • For serving Special Police Officers (SPOs) with a continuous engagement of three years, the upper age limit is 37 years. For Voluntary Home Guards (VHGs) with a minimum engagement of five years, the limit is 37 years. Ex-servicemen can apply up to the age of 48 years.

4. Physical Standards:

  • Height: 5 feet 6 inches (minimum) for most candidates. For candidates from the Gorkha community, the minimum height is 5 feet 4 inches.
  • Chest: 32 inches (un-expanded) and 33 ½ inches (expanded).

5. JK Police Constable Selection Process:

Candidates meeting the basic eligibility criteria will undergo several tests, including:

  • Endurance Long Race: 1600 meters in 6 ½ minutes (for candidates below 30 years old).
  • Pushups: 20 (one cycle of up and down to be counted as one).
  • Physical Standard Test (PST): Includes measurement of height and chest.
  • Written Examination: Candidates who qualify PET/PST will appear for a written test comprising 100 objective-type questions. The paper will cover general awareness, elementary mathematics, analytical aptitude, and ability.

The recruitment process had been ongoing for some time, and with the release of the revised result, candidates can now check their status and prepare for the next stage of the process.
