Daily wager promoted to the rank of Special Secretary in J&K

The Crime Branch Jammu has arrested a retrospectively superannuated officer of Special Secretary rank, who had forged his own date of birth.

The accused, namely Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Ganai, resident of Hanjura, Tehsil Chadoora, District-Budgam, was Special Secretary (Legal) Home Department.

and is superannuate by the Government on March 3, 2021 with retrospective effect from March 31, 2019.

As per his actual Date of birth certificate, he was supposed to have retired two years back in March, 2019.

but in the meantime, By forgery and manipulations,

the accused added four more years to his due Government service, at senior rank by taking undue advantage of his official position.

With access to corridors of power of the time, the accused arose from a daily wager in the office of Executive Engineer, Electric Division,

Budgam to Special Secretary (Legal) to Government of Jammu & Kashmir,

by managing out of turn promotions which was violation of rules and regulations and would be probed accordingly.

After the arrest of the said accused, it has come to light that Government is strictly invigilating

such cases of forgery and fraud amongst their service men, which is applaud worthy, says a Crime branch Jammu official.

Hope and assurance of institutionalizing sincere officials in service has been reinstated again in us by the Government.
