KUPWARA, JANUARY 10: A meeting of District Level Technical Committee (DLTC) was today held under the chairmanship of the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray to finalise the scale of finance for the year 2023-24 for Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Fisheries, Animal and Sheep Husbandry at DC Office, here.
On the occasion, the DDC sought detailed feedback from the officers regarding the costs involved in different inputs of crops.
The DDC directed the officers to ensure maximum coverage of the farmer beneficiaries under the Government schemes and PMEGP. He directed the Floriculture officer to identify at least one beneficiary in every block of Kupwara district for sponsoring them under different schemes so that maximum avenues for earning livelihood are generated.
The meeting held threadbare discussion to determine and fix the Scale of Finance for providing short term loans to the farmers in the shape of Working Capital for various field crops. A threadbare discussion was also held regarding the costs involved in various sub items such as fodder, fertilizer, pesticides, labour and manure etc for growing the crops and maintenance of dairy animals.
It was informed that the rates finalised by the Committee will be forwarded to the State Level Technical Committee.
It is worth mentioning here that the rates approved in scale of finance serves as a tool for arriving at the Potential Credit Plan of the district.
The meeting was attended by Nodal Officer BCC Bank, Officers from Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sericulture, Floriculture, AD Fisheries, besides, other officers from agri-allied departments and Banks were present in the meeting.
