J&K Secretariat to Conduct Type Test for Matriculate Orderlies/Jamadars for Junior Assistant Vacancies

The General Administration Department of Jammu and Kashmir has initiated the process of conducting a Type Test for Matriculate Orderlies/Jamadars of the J&K Secretariat (Subordinate) Service. This move aims to fill vacancies of Junior Assistants anticipated to be available under the 25% promotion quota, in accordance with the J&K Secretariat (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules.

Details of the Initiative: All eligible Matriculate Orderlies/Jamadars of the J&K Secretariat (Subordinate) Service, who aspire to participate in the Type Test, are requested to submit their bio-data within a stipulated period of seven days. The submission can be made either in person or via email to establishment.gad@jk.gov.in. The bio-data should adhere to the prescribed proforma/format and include details such as the official’s name, designation, place of posting, and a recent passport-size photograph.

Objective: The objective behind conducting this Type Test is to streamline the promotion process within the J&K Secretariat (Subordinate) Service. By providing eligible candidates with an opportunity to demonstrate their typing skills, the department aims to identify suitable candidates to fill upcoming vacancies of Junior Assistants.

Grant of ‘J&K Government Awards’, for the year-2023, on the eve of Republic Day – invitation of nominations thereof. Vide Government Order No. 1268-GAD of 2003 dated 26.09.2003, read with Government Order No. 50-JK(GAD) of 2020 dated 09.01.2020, the procedure for conferment of “J&K Government Awards” in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been notified. The J&K Government Award’ shall be conferred for excellence in any of the following fields on the eve of Republic Day, every year:

  1. Award for Bravery.
  2. Award for achievements in the field of Literature.
  3. Award for performing Art.
  4. Award for Excellence in Art & Crafts
  5. Award for Social Reforms and Empowerment
  6. Award for Meritorious Public Service (Two awards shallbe reserved for Non-Gazetted Officials)
  7. Award for Lifetime Achievements in any other field.
  8. Award for Outstanding Sports Person
  9. Award for Outstanding Media Person
  10. Award for Outstanding Environmentalist
  11. Award for Outstanding Industrial Entrepreneurship

As per the scheme, the nominations for granting J&K Government Awards’ shall be made by any of the following:-

  1. Social Organization.
  2. Sports Bodies.
  3. NGOs.
  4. Universities.
  5. J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages.
  6. Administrative Secretaries in relation to awards for Meritorious Public Service.
  7. Divisional Commissioners.
  8. Deputy Commissioners.

Accordingly, all the concerned are request to send suitable nominations/recommendations in respect of eligible persons /organizations, along-with citation(s) and supporting documents by or before 15th November, 2022, for consideration for conferment of award on the eve of Republic Day, 2023.

Govt withdraws all posts referred to JKSSB, JKPSC

The Jammu and Kashmir government has withdrawn all posts referred for selection to the public service commission (PSC) and the service selection board (SSB) which were referred for selection before October 31, 2019.

In a letter addressed to PSC and SSB, the general administration department (GAD) has advised the two selection bodies that all posts referred to them before October 31, 2019 for which selections have still not been made, shall stand withdrawn.

“All posts referred to JKPSC/SSB prior to 31.10.2019, for which selections have not been finalized till date, as also the posts in which there are litigations and the cases are pending in Hon’ble court shall be deemed to have been withdrawn with immediate effect”, the administrative council headed by Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha decided in its meeting.

The GAD has asked the two selection bodies to follow the decision of the administrative council in letter and spirit.

It must be mentioned that selections for all the gazetted government jobs in J&K are made by the PSC while candidates for non-gazetted jobs are made by the SSB.
