The release of the Provisional Selection List for the post of Accounts Assistant, Finance Department, UT Cadre, advertised vide Advertisement Notification No. 04 of 2020 dated 16.12.2020, under Item No. 106, by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) marks a significant milestone in the recruitment process. This article aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the selection list release, including background information, notification details, qualification requirements, examination process, and important notices for candidates.
The release of the Provisional Selection List signifies the culmination of a rigorous selection process undertaken by the JKSSB to fill the vacant positions of Accounts Assistant within the Finance Department, UT Cadre. This announcement is eagerly awaited by thousands of aspirants who have applied for the advertised posts.
The recruitment process for the Accounts Assistant position commenced with the issuance of Advertisement Notification No. 04 of 2020 on 16th December 2020. The notification aimed to fill 972 vacant positions in the Finance Department, UT Cadre.
The notification outlined the requisition forwarded by the Finance Department for direct recruitment to the advertised posts. It specified the cadre-wise distribution of vacancies and the requisite qualifications for selection.
JKSSB Accounts Assistant Qualification Requirements
Candidates were required to possess a Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university, with a minimum of 50% marks for Open Merit and 45% marks for Reserved Category. Additionally, candidates with a postgraduate degree or PhD were also eligible for selection.

The Advertisement Notification provided detailed information regarding the application process, including the cut-off date for online application submission, which was 31st January 2021.
JKSSB FAA Examination Details
The written examination for the Accounts Assistant position was conducted by the JKSSB on 28th January 2024. This examination served as a crucial step in the selection process, evaluating the candidates’ knowledge and skills relevant to the position.
Result Announcement
Following the examination, the JKSSB issued Notification No. JKSSB-COEOEXAM/(UT)/105/2023-04, announcing the result/score-sheet of candidates who appeared in the OMR Based Written Examination held on 28th January 2024.
JKSSB Accounts Assistant Documents Verification
Candidates falling under the consideration zone were notified about the schedule for Documents Verification (DV) through official notifications. The DV process aimed to verify the authenticity of documents submitted by candidates during the application process.
To ensure transparency and fairness in the selection process, a Selection Committee was constituted by the JKSSB. This committee was tasked with preparing the Provisional Selection List based on merit and eligibility criteria.

The Provisional Selection List for the Accounts Assistant position was presented before the JKSSB at its 262nd meeting held on 23rd February 2024. Upon approval, the list was officially notified and made available on the JKSSB’s official website.
