DC Santosh chairs meeting of District Registering Authority under Clinical Establishment Act

To ensure proper regulation and operationalization of clinical establishments in Kargil district, a meeting of the District Registering Authority under Clinical Establishment Act was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve.

The meeting was attended by SSP Kargil, Anayat Ali Chowdhary, ADC Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani, CMO Kargil, Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir and MS District Hospital Kargil, Dr Liyaqat Ali.

At the outset, the CMO briefed the meeting about the status of clinical establishments in the district according to the Clinical Establishment Act 2010 adopted by UT Ladakh. He informed that the registrations of all the old establishments in the district have expired.

DC Kargil directed for wide media publicity of the application of registration for new clinical establishments and for renewal of registration of the old establishments.

He also directed to collect all the details about the status of the accounts of the clinical establishments from the Directorate of Health Services.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the concerned officers to issue the provisional certificate as per the guidelines of the Clinical Establishment Act.

During the meeting, the Clinical Establishment Act was thoroughly discussed including the establishment of dental clinics, X-ray centre, ECG, laboratories, Nursing Home, USG, sample collection, physiotherapy, dialysis centre etc.

Seminar on National Safety Week held at GDC Drass

Govt. Degree College, Drass in collaboration with Department of Labour, Kargil today organized a seminar on National Safety Week at GDC Drass on the theme “Our Aim Zero Harm.”

The program was conducted by Professor Jigmet Sangyes, Assistant Professor Political Science under the supervision of Principal GDC Drass.

All the students across different semesters of the college participated in the seminar. A detailed lecture was presented by Dr Amjad Ali Abassi, Principal GDC Drass wherein he deliberated upon various safety measures for the students within and outside the campus.

He also spoke on various general aspects of Safety, Health and Environment and suggested measures to promote participative approach by faculties and students by involving them in SHE activities.

Other speakers from different departments of the college also spoke on the occasion. Later, the program concluded by taking pledge on safety.

Students appreciated the college administration for organizing the seminar to aware them on various safety issues in society. The program was attended by faculties, teaching and non-teaching staff of the college and officials from the Department of Labour, Kargil.

Ladakh Administration Initiates Recruitment Rules for Gazetted Posts

Leh, March 07: The Ladakh administration is in the process of framing recruitment rules for gazetted posts. In this connection, Advisor Ladakh, Umang Narula held a meeting with all Administrative Secretaries at the Civil Secretariat Leh to review the progress of work.

During the meeting, the Administrative Secretaries presented the progress of the recruitment rules for gazetted posts in their respective departments. Advisor Narula reviewed and directed that the draft rules should be placed in the public domain for ‘Stakeholders’ comments after obtaining clearance from the General Administration Department (GAD) Ladakh within the next 10 days.

The draft rules will then be further examined based on feedback from the stakeholders before being sent to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for approval. Thereafter the gazetted recruitment rules will be notified.

Advisor Narula also reviewed the monitoring of court cases by the Law department. The department is creating a database of all cases filed in various courts of law. The Secretary Law and Justice, Fayaz Ahmed Sheikh informed that regular review meetings with the law officers of all the departments and the ASG/ Legal Counsels are being held.

The Advisor emphasized effective monitoring of court cases and urged the departments to ensure timely submission of replies and filing of counter replies.

The meeting was attended by all Administrative Secretaries; Additional Secretary, Home Department; Deputy Director Planning; OSD to the Advisor, and officials of concerned departments.

DIET Kargil organizes concluding session of winter training program

District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kargil today organized the concluding session of winter training program and launched its magazine at Conference Hall Baroo.

Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan was chief guest, Director School Education, Ladakh, Dr Safdar Ali was the guest of honour, Joint Director, Information/Additional Secretary Higher Education, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho was the special guest, CEO Kargil, Mushtaq Ahmed, ZEOs, Principals of various government and private schools, teachers and trainees were present during the concluding ceremony.

On the occasion, the CEC congratulated DIET Kargil for organizing winter training program for teachers. He said DIET Kargil is the backbone of the education system in Kargil and aims to impart skills and training to teachers.

Khan also congratulated the DIET for launching the annual magazine. He said it is important to highlight the achievements of the departments in the respective field and should be visible to the general public.

The CEC hailed the efforts of DIET Kargil for imparting various training sessions to upgrade skills of teachers in the district which will benefit the student community at large.

Regarding allotment of land for the construction of DIET building, Khan said LAHDC Kargil in consultation with District Administration will identify suitable land on priority.

Khan said in the past two years, Kargil has witnessed tremendous change in the education system, especially in government schools.

The CEC hailed the effort of teachers for doing their job with utmost sincerity and honesty. He also hailed community participation in schools.

CEC Kargil requested Director School Education, Ladakh to seek technological interventions in terms of making transfer policy transparent along with digitization of attendance of teachers in schools.

Director School Education, Ladakh Dr Safdar Ali said for the infrastructure development of DIET in both the districts of Ladakh, Rs 20 cr (10 cr for each district) has been sanctioned. He said once the land for DIET building is identified, the construction work will be stared.

Regarding the shortage of manpower, Dr Safdar said a tender has been floated and the recruitment will be conducted on outsourcing basis as soon as possible.

He also said that with the recruitment, Block Resource Centres (BRCs) and Cluster Resource Centres (CRCs) will also be activated.

Dr Safdar stressed on teachers to achieve the target set under the New India Literacy Program (NILP) introduced by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

He also stressed on teachers to monitor the learning outcome of the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN) Bharat.

While highlighting the importance of education, Joint Director, Information/Additional Secretary Higher Education, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho said education is the only way forward for the upliftment of any society.

He congratulated DIET Kargil for time and again organizing training sessions and workshops. He hailed teachers for rendering their noble services for the development of society.

5th Jan Aushadi Diwas celebrated at DH Kargil

The 5th Jan Aushadi Diwas was celebrated today at District Hospital Kargil (DHK). In this regard, a program was conducted at Conference Hall DHK, to commemorate the day.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil, Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kargil, Dr Kacho Liaqat Ali Khan, Deputy CMO, Dr Mohd Abbas, Consultants, Medical Officers, Dental Surgeons of DHK, public representatives, students of GNM School besides concerned officers were present during the event.

On the occasion, the CMO congratulated the participants for successfully organizing the Jan Aushadhi Diwas, which in totality was very informative. He asked the Jan Aushadhi team to make efforts at the grassroots level so that people can benefit from such schemes at large.

Dr Kacho Liaqat Ali Khan while speaking on the importance of the scheme said he himself purchased medicines from Jan Aushadhi Kendra and found them very effective. He asked all participants to purchase Jan Aushadhi Medicines and encourage others to do the same.

The Jan Aushadhi initiative will make available quality drugs at affordable prices through dedicated stores that sell generic medicines available at lesser prices but are equivalent in quality and efficacy like expensive branded drugs.

Earlier Dr Oliyath Ali, District Nodal Officer Ayushman Bharat gave a detailed presentation about the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojna (PMBJP) followed by recitation of a poem on the same topic.

Meanwhile, a debate and quiz competition was held among students of GNM School on Jan Aushadhi Diwas and PMBJP. Further prizes and certificates were also distributed among participants.

On the occasion of World Women’s Day (March), a Cycling Event was organized by NCD Cell Leh Under the National Program for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke (NPCDCS) on 05 March 2023 at SNM Hospital Leh.

Students of Moravian Mission School and Islamia Public School took part in the Cycle really. The rally was flagged off by Dr Motup Dorje, Director Health Services.

First table tennis open championship 2023 concludes

The first table tennis open championship, 2023, UT Ladakh organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh in collaboration with the Table Tennis Association of Ladakh concluded today on March 4 at NDS stadium, Leh.

Secretary, Youth & Sports, UT Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar, was the chief guest.

U-17 boys, U-17 girls, Men’s singles, Men’s doubles, Women’s singles and Women’s doubles matches were played during the championship.

In the U-17 girls singles category, Mehbooba Bano was adjudged as the winner while, Nafiza Nazir was adjudged as runner-up. In the U-17 girl’s doubles category, Diskit Angmo and Stanzin Diskit adjudged as the runners up.

Similarly, U-17 boys singles category, Jigmet Choswang was adjudged as winner and Rigzin Norbu was adjudged as runner-up. In U- 17, boys doubles category, Stanzin Norbu and Rigzin Norboo adjudged as winners, while Padma Wangdus and Rangdol Ishey adjudged as the runners up.

In women’s singles category, Hakima Bano adjudged as winner, while Tsewang Chuskit adjudged as runners up. In women’s doubles category, Hakima Bano and Ishey Angmo adjudged as winners, while Stanzin Chetsog and Tsewang Choskit adjudged as the runners up.

In men’s single category, Afaq Radhu adjudged as winner while Sonam Paljor adjudged as runner up. In men’s double category, Gonbo Stobgyal and Siddharth Norbu adjudged as winners, while Afaq Radhu and Padma Stanzin adjudged as the runners up.

Councillor, Lower Leh, Tsering Namgyal; Vice President, LBA, Tsering Lakrook; Vice President, AMI, Adv. Ramzan; President Anjuman Imamia, Ashraf Barcha and President, Christian Association Rev. Dechen Chamgha were present.

DC Santosh Sukhadeve reviews Shab-e-Bharat arrangements in Kargil

In view of observance of Shab-e-Baraat, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve today reviewed the adequate arrangements being put in place so that the general public across the district does not face any inconvenience.

During the meeting, the DC Kargil directed the concerned officers to make all arrangements as put forth by the religious organizations of the district.

The meeting was informed that extensive arrangements across all domains will be made in order to ensure comfortable observance of the holy occasion.

He directed for ensuring all facilities are put in place at the religious places where major congregations are expected.

The DC Kargil stressed on the officers that large gatherings are expected and it is important to ensure all the facilities for the devotees are put in place well in time.

He sought a detailed report from concerned officers regarding the arrangements of security, electricity, water supply, cleanliness, medical aid and other facilities. He stressed on washing of roads to clear dust and directed the EO, Municipal Committee Kargil to do this on priority.

The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Anayat Ali Chowdhury besides representatives from different religious organisations and concerned officers.

Shab-e-Baraat would be observed on the intervening nigh of March 07 and 08, 2023. Special prayers followed by supplications and sermons will be held across the district.
