Lal Singh Chaddha screens in the First multiplex in Srinagar

Kashmir valley’s first multiplex was inaugurated on Tuesday by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Putting an end to three decades long wait of people to watch their favourite stars on big screen, LG inaugurated the valley’s first multiplex in Sonawar area of the city.

On first day of the Inox multiplex whose construction got completed after five years got its first Bollywood movie release as Aamir Khan starrer Lal Singh Chadda. The regular shows will start from September 30 with the screening of Vikram Vedha, starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan.

Last week, Sinha had inaugurated multipurpose cinema halls in Pulwama and Shopian and called it a “historic day”. “Yesterday inaugurated Multipurpose Cinema Halls at Pulwama and Shopian. It offers facilities ranging from movie screening, infotainment and skilling of youth,” the LG had tweeted on Sunday.

Cinema halls had closed down in the Valley in the 1990s with the onset of terrorists.
