Shri. Nirav Suresh chandra Shah, Nirav Shah is an Indian politician who is former deputy mayor of Surat Municipal Corporation.
Nirav Shah was appointed as chairman of the standing committee of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) in July 2014. He was elected as deputy mayor of SMC in June 2018. Media outlets credited him for celebrating meatless day on 25 December 2018 — the day when SMC had decided to close their butcher houses for a day. He organized a massive tree plantation campaign in September 2020 on account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 70th birthday where 70,000 trees were plant all across Surat.
During the 2020 coronavirus lockdown in India, Nirav Shah allegedly broke the rules of the government imposed lockdown and did not practice social distancing while meeting Jain monks for relief work of animals. A First Information Report was filed against him for violating section 144 of IPC, which prohibits meeting more than 4 persons at one place.
Nirav Shah Biography
Shree Nirav Shah was born on 1st, May, 1971 to Shree Suresh chandra Shah and Smt. Ramilaben Shah in Deesa (Banaskantha), Gujarat.
He grew up in the village of Deesa and after that he went to Ahmedabad to pursue his Diploma in Civil Engineering from Government Polytechnic College.
After completing his education he moved to Surat, that is when he joined Bharatiya Janta Party(BJP) in 1992.
Along with being a social worker and professional life, he is also connected strongly towards his culture and religion.
Nirav Shah always made sure that he dedicated his life towards development of Surat city and later on wish to contribute towards development of Gujarat and then India as a country. Nirav Shah is a believer of making this world a better place to live in and has dedicated his life to this belief. He has always been a strong personality of ethics and dedication.
