Payment of Dearness Allowance to the SKUAST-K Employees/Pensioners/Family Pensioners on revised rates effective from 01-07-2022.

With the approval of the Competent Authority, sanction is accorded to the payment of Dearness Allowance to SKUAST-K employees/pensioners/family pensioners on revised rates as under:

The term “Basic pay” in the revised pay structure means the pay drawn in the prescribed Level in the Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission recommendations, but does not include any other type of pay like special pay etc.

The enhancement of DA shall form part of monthly salary, pension/family pension from November 2022 onwards subject to availability of funds from GOJK.

The arrears on account of additional installment of Dearness Allowance with effect from July 2022 shall be paid in cash in the month of December 2022, as and when funds are released by the GoJK Other provisions governing the grant of Dearness Allowance on pension/family pension such as the regulation of Dearness Allowance during employment/re-employment, where more than one pension is drawn etc. and other provisions of the existing rules/orders (as are not in conflict with provisions of the order), shall continue to be in force.

Srinagar: Division of Fish Genetics and Biotechnology (FGB), Faculty of Fisheries, SKUAST- K organized a one day brainstorming workshop on “Rainbow trout culture in India: Intervention through genetic and biotechnological approaches to enhance aquaculture production”.

The main aim of the workshop was to bring Farmers, Scientists and Technocrats on one platform to identify impediments in Trout Culture. The workshop was organized under the banner of PMSSY funded project to the Faculty of Fisheries. Director Research SKUAST-K Dr. Sarfaraz A. Wani was the Chief guest and Sagar Mehra, Joint Secretary, Inland Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Govt. Of India was the guest of honor on the occasion. Director Research, SKUAST-K highlighted the various issues of aquaculture especially Trout culture and said that the fisheries sector has been one of the sustainable sectors of Agriculture in India. He congratulated the organizers and stressed to conduct such programmes in future also for the benefit of farmers and students. Director Research formed a panel of scientists from the Faculty of Fisheries to prepare a DPR to help the cooperative fisheries society of Srinagar in preparing a proposal to get funds under the central schemes.

Director Research envisaged the vision of Prof. Nazir A Ganie, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K to alleviate the sufferings of farmers. Sagar Mehra highlighted various schemes of PMSSY, GoI specific to fisheries sector and stressed upon the farmers and students to get benefit from the central schemes.

The Secretary was overwhelmed by the enthusiastic farmers and students who posed various questions and queries and were satisfied by the solutions offered by the experts. Dean, Faculty of Fisheries, Dr. Farooz A. Bhat on the occasion discussed the various genetic interventions needed for the Trout production in order to have high survival rate and fast growth.

Dr. Mohd Ashraf, Organizing Secretary highlighted the technical sessions of the workshop. The programme was attended by HoD’s, scientist, scholars, students, farmers, fishers and representatives of fish cooperative organization. The programme ended with various suggestions and conclusions with the aim to uplift the fishers of Valley. Dr. Irfan Ahmad, Head Division of FGB, FoFy offered vote of thanks..
