SSC CHSL 2021: CHSL exam – dates, pattern, syllabus, vacancies

Staff Selection Committee conducts the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) examination is conducted for various vacancies in the different ministries, departments and offices of the Government of India. These jobs mainly include non-technical and clerical jobs.

The SSC CHSL 2021 Exam will be recruiting candidates for the positions of Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA), Sorting Assistant (SA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO). Last year, approximately 4726 vacancies were announced. A notification for the vacancies available this year will be announced in due course of time.

SSC CHSL 2021 – Exam Pattern

The SSC CHSL 2021 Exam is conducted in three tiers. Tier 1 comprises of an objective multiple-choice test which is given online. Candidates who clear Tier 1 then appear for the Tier 2 exam which is conducted offline and candidates are required to answer descriptive type questions. After clearing this tier, selected candidates then appear for Tier 3 exam which comprises of a Typing Test and a Skill Test (Skill test is only conducted for the position of DEO)

SSC CHSL 2021 – Eligibility

Candidates applying for the SSC CHSL Exam 2021 must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria. The candidate must be either a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan refugee or a person of Indian origin Candidate must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board or university.

To apply for the DEO Grade A posts, candidates must have cleared Class 12 in Science with Mathematics. Candidates appearing in the Class 12 exam are also eligible to apply considering they meet the requirements by January 1, 2022.Candidates must ensure they are between the age of 18 and 27 years as of January 1, 2022

SSC CHSL 2021 – Syllabus

Tier 1 – Candidates will be tested on major topics under English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness Tier 2 – Essay Writing and Letter/Application on Politics, Finance and Economy, Social Issues, Sports, Technology and Environment Tier 3 – Skill Test for DEO is conducted. For other posts, a typing test is held. Candidates are given printed material, which they have to type on a computer.

How to Apply for SSC CHSL Exam

The registration process for the SSC CHSL 2021-22 Exam began on February 1, 2022. Candidates can apply for the competitive exam till March 7, 2022 on the official SSC website – or the UMANG mobile application. The SSC CHSL 2021 Exam is likely to be conducted in May 2022.
