Around 4,000 Naga youths are participating in the first-ever Agniveer army recruitment rally for soldier general duty and tradesman in Nagaland, an official said. The rally commenced on Wednesday at Rangapahar in Dimapur and will continue for the next few days, stated a release issued by PRO (Defence), Kohima, Lt Col Amit Shukla.

Initially, the recruitment is being done for general duty, which will be followed by soldier tradesmen, he said. Candidates are registered from all districts of Nagaland, he said, adding that the candidates have been allotted specific dates to appear for the rally till September 15.

Meanwhile, the PRO advised all candidates to beware of false promises made by various frauds and touts. The entire recruitment process is automated and no person can influence the result of any candidate, he said, while also encouraging them to have faith in their own capabilities.

Gurugram: In a bid to recruit a number of Agniveers to the Indian Army under the newly launched Agnipath scheme, a recruitment rally will be organised in Haryana’s Ambala from October 25 to November 11 at Army Recruitment Headquarters and Kharga Stadium in Ambala Cantt.

Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment 2022:

Youths from six districts: Ambala, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar and Panchkula and Union Territory of Chandigarh will be able to participate in this Agniveer recruitment rally.

According to the recruitment rules, sons of serving or retired officers and Sainik Veer Naris will be given relaxation in height, weight, and chest and 20 per cent bonus marks will be given on passing the examination.

Bonus points will also be given to the winners of the Khelo India Youth Games and All India School Games Federation.

Recruitment will be held for posts of Agniveer General Duty, Agniveer Clerk, Storekeeper (Technical), Agniveer (Technical), and Agniveer Tradesman, Recruitment Director.

What is Indian Army Agniveer Enrollment Period ?

  • Candidates will be enrolled under Army Act 1950 for a service duration of four (04) years including the training period.
  • Agniveers so enrolled will be subject to Army Act, 1950 and will be liable to go wherever ordered, by land, sea or air.
  • Agniveers enrolled under the scheme, will not be eligible for any kind of Pension or Gratuity.

What is Indian Army Agniveer Salary ?

The pay & emoluments of Agniveers will be as given below :-

  • 1st Year – Rs. 30,000/- (plus applicable allowances.)
  • 2nd Year – ₹33,000/- (plus  applicable allowances.)
  • 3rd Year – 36,500/- (plus applicable allowances.)
  • 4th Years- 40,000/- (plus applicable allowances.)

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment Rally 2022

Educational Qualification:

  • Agniveer (General Duty) (All Arms) – Class 10th /Matric with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject. For boards following fgrading system minimum of D grade (33% – 40%) in individual subjects or equivalent of grade which contains 33% and overall aggregate in C2 grade or equivalent corresponding to 45% in aggregate.
  • Agniveer (Tech) and Agniveer Tech (Avn & Amn Examiner) -10+2/Intermediate Exam Pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject.
  • Agniveer Clerk / Store Keeper Technical (All Arms) – 10+2 / Intermediate Exam Pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% in each subject. Securing 50% in English and Maths/Accts/Book Keeping in Cl XII is mandatory.
  • Agniveer Tradesmen (All Arms)- 10th pass. No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored in 33% in each subject.
  • Agniveer Tradesmen (All Arms) 8th pass – Class 8th simple pass and No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored in 33% in each subject.

Agnipath, since the day it has been announced, has created a huge buzz among the youth, media and political circles , for both, the wrong and the right reasons. It has led to violent protest at many places as well as has been welcomed at some quarters. But once the protest arising out of the concerns of the aspirants die down, there will be many young men who will make a beeline to reap the benefits of the scheme. Till now, there are lots of doubts about how the process of selection will be and aspirants are concerned that they don’t miss the bus.

All three services have already declared firmly that they will start enrolling the interested and eligible candidates very soon. Also, according to the official communications released by the Indian Armed Forces, the selection process largely remains the same as those followed in the last recruitment in 2019-20.

Agniveer Selection in Indian Air Force

Indian Armed Forces has launched the Agnipath Scheme for all three services i,e., Army, Air Force and Navy. Under this scheme, Agniveers would be selected to serve the Indian Air Force (IAF) also for a period of four years. In Air Force, they will be known as Agniveervayu and will be recruited from all parts of the nation through an All-India competitive examination process utilizing contemporary technology, practices and systems.

Indian Air Force has two Groups, namely Gp X &Gp Y, of Airmen in its rank and file.  The Agniveervayus will be inducted in these two groups and upon completion of 4 years of service some of them are absorbed as permanent soldiers in the Airmen cadre. Earlier the allotment of trade to the candidates was done at the initial stage. But from the latest notification, it appears that the nature work of these Agniveervayu may not be fixed or defined, and in fact, may vary time to time [Employability. AGNIVEERVAYU enrolled under this entry are liable to be assigned any duty in organisational interest, at the discretion of the Indian Air Force: as mentioned in the notification].

The selection process will be same for all candidates desirous of joining different types of trades in the Air Force. However, the subjects and requirements may differ depending on the nature of job in different trades.

Exam Pattern -Written test (Online)

Online test will be objective type and questions will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper. Online test for candidates opting for both Science Subjects & Other Than Science Subjects  shall be conducted in one sitting, on the same system. Candidates are to bring one blue/ black pen and original valid ID proof along with them for Phase – I testing. CASB Airmen Medical Standards

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for joining Indian Air Force as per guidelines given in the official notification. General Medical Standards are as follows:

Highlights of the Selection Process of AGNIVEERVAYU

According to its Official Notification, the Selection of Agniveervayu is Based on Written Exam, Physical Fitness Test, Adaptability Test- 1, Adaptability Test- 2, and Medical Test.

  1. This Selection Test is only for eligible MALE (Indian/Nepalese) candidates. Females are not eligible.
  2. The testing procedure for recruitment as Airmen in IAF consists of three phases as outlined below:
    1. Phase-I Online Written Test (At an allotted Centre)
    2. Phase-II Physical Fitness Test, AT-I and AT-II Test (At Airmen Selection Centre of IAF)
    3. Phase-III Medical Fitness Test (At a Medical Centre of IAF)

Details as below:

  1. Selected Candidate in Written Exam will be Called for Next round
  2. The next Round is the Physical Fitness Test.
  3. PFT will be qualifying in Nature.
  4. Selected Candidate in PFT will be Called for Adaptability Test- 1
  5. This Test is an objective type written test. After the Selection in Adaptability test-1 the candidate will be call for Adaptability Test- 2.
  6. These two tests are to assess suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions and adjust to the military way of life.

Highlights of the Exam : Online Test

The Phase I consists of an All India Selection Test which will be conducted this year only at different centres. The Indian Air Force Group X and Y exam mode is online. Following is the IAF exam for the selection of Agniveervayu:

Phase – I: Online Test

Different subject tests will be there based on the stream of the applicants in Class XII. The details of the test are as follows:

  1. Science Subjects: The test comprises English, Physics and Mathematics as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus.
  2. Other Than Science Subjects: The test comprises comprise English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
  3. Science Subjects & Other Than Science Subjects: The test comprises English, Physics and Mathematics as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).

Phase – II: Verification of Eligibility

Candidates should be in possession of the documents mentioned at para 18 above, when appearing for the selection test which would be scrutinised/verified prior to commencement of Phase – II to ascertain the eligibility prima-facie.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Names of the shortlisted candidates, who qualify the online test, shall be displayed on the CASB Web Portal and on a stipulated date shall be called at designated airmen selection centre for Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which would consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed within 06 minutes 30 seconds. Candidates shall also have to complete 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups and 20 Squats within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.

All candidates who pass the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) shall have to undertake the following: 

Adaptability Test-I

It is an objective type written test which is to assess suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.

Adaptability Test- II

All candidates who pass Adaptability Test – I shall have to undertake Adaptability Test- II as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test- II is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.

Phase – III

Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify Adaptability Test-II shall be issued with medical appointment letter at respective ASCs. It can also be downloaded under candidates login on CASB web portal or their medical examination at designated Medical Boarding Centre (MBC) on specified date. Medical examination shall be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and policy in vogue on subject issue. Medical examination would also include Baseline Investigation of:-

  1. Blood Haemogram – Hb, TLC, DLC
  2. Urine RE/ME
  3. Biochemistry :-(i) Blood Sugar Fasting & PP (ii) Serum Cholesterol (iii) Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine (iv) LFT—Serum Bilurubin, SGOT, SGPT
  4. X- Ray chest (PA view)
  5. ECG (R)
  6. Tests for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Abuse.
  7. Any other test necessary in the opinion of the Medical Officer.
