UGC NET 2022 Application process for December 2021 and June 2022 begins

The online portal for submission of applications for the merged December 2021 and June 2022 cycle of the National Eligibility Test (NET) is now open.

Candidates interested in pursuing Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and proving eligibility to become an Assistant Professor in University Grants Commission (UGC) approved colleges can apply online for the test till May 20, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said in a circular.

The portal for submission of application forms will remain open till 11.50pm on May 20, and candidates can make corrections to their application from May 21 to May 23, the circular from NTA further stated.

UGC NET will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode for a total of 82 subjects. The slots of JRF of both UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 cycles have been merged while the methodology for subject wise cum category-wise allocation of JRF remains unchanged.

According to NTA’s circular, the exams will be held in two shifts – from 9am to 12pm and from 3pm to 6pm. The application fee for the general category is Rs 1,100. Candidates from Economically Weaker Section (EWS), OBC, ST/SC and PwD categories will have to pay Rs 550 to apply for the test, while third gender candidates will have to pay a sum of Rs 275.
