Volleyball tournament concludes at Zanskar

The volleyball tournament organized by Culture Preservation Society Kumik concluded on Wednesday Kumik, Zanskar.

Sub Divisional Magistrate Zanskar, Sonam Dorjay accompanied by Station House Officer Zanskar, Dorjay Gyalson, Block Development Officer, Zanskar, Tsewang Rigzin and Zonal Physical Education Officer, Tsering Tashi were present at the final match of the volleyball tournament.

Eight teams from different villages participated in the tournament. The final match was played between Elite Stara and Nari Zangla. After a tough competition, Nari Zangla beat Elite Stara.

Welcoming the chief guest and guests, the president Culture Preservation Society Kumik informed that youth are attracted towards archery and the equipment are costly and there is no physical exercise. However, volleyball provides physical exercise and is also low-cost. 

Addressing the gathering, SDM Zanskar appreciated the society for organizing the tournament for youth so that they are engaged in games and remain away from bad habits.

Colorful cultural programs were also presented by Ama Tsogspa and winner team players on the occasion. Prizes were distributed by the chief guest and other guests to the winner, runner-up team and other participants.
