DC Kupwara reviews progress under District CAPEX Budget

Asks officers to speed up pace of work to achieve cent percent targets

KUPWARA: About 67.73% expenditure has been incurred under District CAPEX Budget 2022-23 in Kupwara district so far. This was stated at a review meeting convened here today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray to review the progress of physical and financial achievements under District CAPEX Budget.
Out of total released funds of Rs.27080.4 lakh, Rs.18341.52 lakh have been incurred on the execution of various developmental works under District CAPEX Budget during current financial year till date which constitutes 67.73%.

The DDC reviewed sector wise progress of all departments including R&B, Education, Jal Shakti, PDD, General Service, Social Service and received feedback from the officers one by one.

He was informed that out of total 3019 approved different developmental works including DDC, BDC and PRI works, 2654 works got administrative approval out of which 2640 works have been tendered. As many as 2366 works have been allotted out of which 1222 works have been completed while as, 1144 works are under execution at different stages of completion.
The DDC also reviewed the pace of progress under MGNREGA and was informed that 48486 have been approved under MGNREGA in 24 blocks of the district. Against the total Labour Budget of Rs.6889.16 lakh as many as 35386 works have been taken up out of which 34744 works have been completed physically. Expenditure on wages is Rs.2805.89 lakh and labour generated 1256843 mandays.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of soakage pits, vermi-compost pits, PMAY (G), JJM and health sectors.

While reviewing Jal Jeevan Mission, it was informed that 106 water supply schemes have been approved at an estimated cost of Rs.589.52 crore in the district.

The DDC was informed mass macadamization was carried out during the current year, out of target of 278 Kms, 272 Kms have been blacktopped/macadamized across the district.

Addressing the meeting, the DDC expressed satisfaction for overall performance of the department and asked officers to speed up the pace of work so that cent percent targets could be achieved within the stipulated timeframe.
